About Our Swim School
Let us help you with your progress along the Aquatic Pathway!
Our Learn to Swim program runs continuously throughout the year with breaks during the school holidays.
How to Enrol
At the moment our program is fully booked. Enquiries about our aquatic program and enrolments can be made to the team via email at dkhac@hobartcity.com.au.
Outside of Lesson Access
Outside of lesson access
A current swim school booking gives your child access to available pools outside of their lesson time.
We encourage you to visit us outside of your scheduled lessons and during the school holidays to allow your child the opportunity to maintain their skills (and to experience our school holiday Splash fun!) Find out more about Splash here.
- For children under the age of 6, this access includes entry for the responsible person to the Centre and pool.
- For children under the age of 11, this free access includes entry for the responsible person for supervision purposes.
We ask that you pay for any other accompanying persons at the Customer Service desk upon arrival.
Lesson Fees
Council have endorsed the 2024/2025 fees and charges. From the 15th July, the cost of lessons will be:
- $23.00 per 30-minute lesson
- $18.40 per 30-minute lesson for valid concession card holders
Please contact us if you wish to know the prices of our adult classes.
Absence Policy
If your child is unwell and you have a medical certificate, we will credit your Swim School account for the missed lesson once the certificate is provided within 7 days of the absence. If you're unable to see a doctor, we kindly ask that you refrain from bringing your child to swim lessons. When they're feeling better, you can take advantage of out-of-lesson access to help them continue practicing their skills.
Supervision
All children must be supervised by a responsible person aged over 16 while at the Doone Kennedy Hobart Aquatic Centre, including during class times. Our teachers may need you to attend to your child during class, so we appreciate you staying close by.
When not in classes, all children aged under 6 years old must be accompanied in the water by the responsible person aged over 16.
Make-up Lessons
Makeup lessons are not offered in our any of the Aquatic programs.
